What is rooting?
Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android's subsystems. As Android uses the Linux Kernel, rooting an Android device gives similar access to administrative permissions as on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system such as FreeBSD or OS X. After rooting your phones, you are probably losing your original data on RAM. So it is highly recommend you backup all your important data (contacts, SMS messages, call history, etc.) before rooting or unrooting your phones, in case of data loss caused by unforeseen circumstances. Rooting immediately voids your phone's warranty, you should consider very carefully whether you need to gain root privileges. When gain root privileges process, there is a very small chance will result in lost data on the SD card. So backup all your important data on your external sd card.

There are several ways to root LG G3 but the most easiest method is from the xda dev Avicohh. The Lg One Click root tool from him is really easy to use.
After downloading the software install it
U are all done on ur pc
* Now on your mobile turn on usb debugging
* Connect your phone to pc.
* If you are using the GUI version just run the LG One Click Root installer, or if you are using the script then double click on the LG Root Script.bat file, to run the script.
* Press start button and follow the instructions on the one click root application.
(If the phone not recognize, try to switch between MTP and PTP options.)
* You dont have to do anything just press start and sit back, phone restarts to download mode by itself and u device will be rooted.
(If it is stuck at looking for Lg serial port dialouge then unplug your device switch off it, and then holding volume up plug the usb again while its switched off, the device boots to download mode and then the process continues)
* After its done Hola! u ve succesfull rooted ur device. You can check if its correctly rooted using root checker.
* After u install it, open the app
* It backs up your present recovery so if something goes wrong you can restore it later.
* After everything is done hit ok on the hint and then press Flash Recovery button. The phone reebots and TWRP will be installed on your device.
You can now flash custom roms, xposed installer, etc on your device
